Día San José is a much needed San José celebration that promotes our resilient cultural pride. Our goal is to produce a downtown destination festival that center stages our traditions, while creating new ones that are relevant today.
Join us on Saturday, October 19, from 12pm to 3pm, for a celebration of Día de los Muertos at Richmond Art Center. Our courtyard and galleries will come alive with art-making activities, music, and a live performance by Danza Azteca Teokalli.

Bring photos or personal items of your loved ones who have passed, to place on an ofrenda to honor and celebrate their lives. Appropriate for all ages. Nighttime at Stafford can get chilly; dress in layers and bring your warmest clothes to stay comfortable throughout the evening. Bring food, warm drinks, lawn chairs, and blankets. No pets (except service dogs) are allowed. Adverse weather or poor quality may cancel; if in doubt, call (415) 897-0618 two hours before the event to confirm the status.
