Two Days: Tuesday, Nov 01, 12-3PM, Wednesday, Nov 02, 3-5PM
Join National Park Rangers and participate in two days of Fiesta de Arte del Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) family-friendly activities in the Presidio that include pintura de cara (facepainting), fiores de papal (paper flower making), and pinta calaca (skull painting and decorating).
There will also be two Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) altares in the park – one at the Presidio Visitor Center honoring People from the Presidio's Past and the other located at the base of the Presidio Steps next to the Outpost and Field Station in Presidio Tunnel Tops honoring endangered and extinct park species. Both altares will be interactive – visitors are encouraged to add to the altares, sharing messages to loved ones who they wish to honor.
This event is also being held on Wednesday, November 2, 3 to 5 pm >>
The event is FREE and open to the public. It’s produced in a partnership between the National Park Service, Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, and the Presidio Trust.
