Santa Rosa Junior College (SRJC) Petaluma is excited to invite you to our annual educational open house and El Día de los Muertos Community Celebration! This lively event, held on Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 11 AM to 3 PM, is the perfect opportunity for families and community members to come together and celebrate this rich cultural tradition. Whether rain or shine, the celebration will go on with all activities, performances, and booths located under covered walkways or indoors.

  • Explore a variety of interactive and educational booths designed for all ages. Learn about different aspects of El Día de los Muertos and participate in fun activities with your family.

• Live Musical Entertainment

  • Enjoy live performances that capture the vibrant spirit of El Día de los Muertos, featuring traditional and contemporary music.

• Ballet Folklorico

  • Experience the beauty of traditional Mexican dance with a captivating Ballet Folklorico performance, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Mexico.

• Chemistry Magic Show

  • Be amazed by the wonders of science with a special chemistry magic show that will delight both kids and adults alike.

• Meet Fresno the Giraffe & Rosco the Bear

  • Don’t miss the chance to meet our beloved SRJC mascots, Fresno the Giraffe and Rosco the Bear! They’ll be on hand for photos and fun interactions.

• Delicious Food Trucks & Churros

  • Satisfy your taste buds with a variety of delicious options from local food trucks. Don’t forget to grab some mouthwatering churros while you're here!

• Skull Decorating & Painting

  • Unleash your creativity with hands-on skull decorating and painting activities. This is a great way to engage with the artistic traditions of the holiday.

• Altares y Ofrendas

  • Explore the beauty and significance of community altars and offerings for El Dia de los Muertos throughout Mahoney Library.

This celebration is a wonderful way to get to know SRJC Petaluma and the exciting educational opportunities we offer. We’re located on Sonoma Mountain Parkway, between E. Washington St. and Corona Rd., and we can’t wait to welcome you to "Your Community’s College."
