U-Pick in the Bay Area

BERRIES
Berry picking runs for strawberries (April through June), raspberries (July through September), blackberries (July through August) and blueberries, ollallieberries & raspberries (July through September) and are all so delicious.
Family-owned organic u-pick farm is open 10am to 7pm in spring and summer, and 10am to 5pm in fall and winter. Currently, the farm offers u-pick grapes in the summer, u-pick pomegranates in the fall, and an all new u-pick veggie garden including The farm also offers apricots, blackberries, peaches, raspberries, strawberries, and walnuts!
CHERRIES & STONE FRUIT
Nectarines, cherries, mangoes, apricots, peaches and plums all fall under the name “stone fruits.” That's because they contain large hard seeds. Harvesting usually starts in early September - October. But Cherry Season typically opens in early May and extends through mid-June. Papini Family Farms U pick and picked cherries in Brentwood. Sweetherts, corals, bing, and lapins. Open mid May thru June.
Rancho Zaragoza is a family friendly U-Pick Farm in Brentwood. White & Yellow Peaches, Apricots, Pluots, White & Yellow Nectarines, Figs, Asian Pears, Plums, Onions & Honey.

APPLES
Peak months for picking apples are September and October so plan a trip to one of these awesome orchards where you can enjoy the seasonal bounty and pick your own apples.
Apple-A-Day Ratzlaff Ranch is a local, family-run business in Sebastopol. We raise apples and pears and make Apple-A-Day apple juice. Our ranch grows Gravenstein, Golden Delicious, and Rome apples. U-pick is offered September & October.
The Apple and Pear U Pick Season will open August 23rd, 2020, with a pre-paid, drive-by option. Enjoy a day of family apple picking at the Chileno Valley Ranch orchard in Petaluma with organically grown varieties such as Orin, Pinova, Candy Crisp, and Jonagold. Open for u-pick on Sundays only, from 9am - 2pm, during August, September and sometimes October. * Due to COVID-19, the ranch is shifting to 'drive by apples' instead of 'u-pick' for 2020.
Gabriel Farm is an organic family farm located in Sebastopol specializes in Apples, Persimmons, Raspberries, Blackberries, Flowers & Pineapple Guavas.
Swanton Pacific Ranch is located in Davenport is a 3,200 acre living and learning ranch. The ranch hosts a variety of functions which include "U-pick" certified organic apples.
Spend a day with your family at Gizdich Ranch in Watsonville and pick your favorite fruit of the season right off the tree or vine; then, picnic among the apple trees and the hills.

CHESTNUTS
Nut drop usually occurs from October thru mid-November. Wear thick gloves, as the burs can be sharp enough to penetrate even the sturdiest gloves.
Head out to Skyline Chestnuts Orchard in La Honda early October when the fresh chestnuts start falling. The crop is sold out by mid-November.
