As the coronavirus pandemic impacts communities in the Bay Area, our museums are stepping up with engaging adult only programs in the virtual space. Have enjoyable leisure adult time while staying home. Here’s a round up local virtual experiences you can have from the comfort and safety of your home.

Night Life at The California Academy of Sciences

Every Thursday Night, 6:00–10:00 p.m.

Creatures of the night—the Academy has you covered. While we prepare to welcome you back to NightLife (in person) in 2021, you can join our free virtual NightSchool programs on Thursday evenings! Drop in for these informal online "classes" that bring an eclectic mix of science and culture to you. Streaming live Thursdays at 7 pm PT (and available as recordings afterwards) on the Academy’s YouTube channel and Facebook page.

After Dark at The Exploratorium

Every Thursday Night, 6:00–10:00 p.m.

From our home to yours, we’re transmitting digital dispatches from After Dark at the Exploratorium. Tune in each week for a free online revue of thoughtful and innovative science, arts and perceptual experiences. From compelling conversation and hidden histories to hands-on how-tos and breaking science news, After Dark Online serves a cocktail of curiosity to supplement your screen time.

Virtual Wednesday at the de Young

Join the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco online every Wednesday at 5 pm as we celebrate artists' voices. We explore diversity, resilience, and creative spirit in the arts as we aim to highlight unique viewpoints to reframe our exhibitions and collections.

Contemporary Jewish Museum

While The Contemporary Jewish Museum (The CJM) is not currently conducting any in-person tours or events to help curb the spread of COVID-19, they continue to offer live, educator–led virtual tours on Zoom or an online video platform of your choice.
