Nancy Johnson James is a poet, educator, activist and children’s book author. Her most recent book, “Brown: The Many Shades of Love:” is a loving and lovely ode to the color brown, a boy describes the many beautiful hues of his family, including his own—gingerbread.

The Marin City Library is proud to welcome acclaimed children’s author and illustrator Cozbi A. Cabrera. Cozbi A. Cabrera is the author of the highly-praised, wonderful, and brilliantly illustrated picture book "My Hair is a Garden."

The Marin City Library is proud to welcome New York Times bestselling author, educator, and activist Renée Watson. Her novel, "Piecing Me Together," received a Newbery Honor and Coretta Scott King Award. Her books include "Some Places More Than Others"; "This Side of Home"; "What Momma Left Me"; "Betty Before X," co-written with Ilyasah Shabazz; and "Watch Us Rise", co-written with Ellen Hagan, as well as two highly acclaimed picture books: "A Place Where Hurricanes Happen" and "Harlem's Little Blackbird", which was nominated for an NAACP Image Award.

The Marin City Library continues its online Zoom author visits with our very own children's author/illustrator, David Swope. David will be reading The Spider King. He will also be announcing the winner of the Royal Web Design contest, and giving away autographed books.

The Marin City Library is proud to announce a series of online author visits called Marin City Live! We are launching this series with acclaimed children’s and teen author Aisha Saeed. Aisha is the New York Times bestselling children’s and tween/teen author of the critically acclaimed novel "Amal Unbound"; the Bank Street Books Best Book "Written in the Stars"; "Aladdin: Far from Agrabah"; and "Bilal Cooks Daal." Aisha is also a founding member of the nonprofit We Need Diverse Books.
