A talk with Karen Bluth, PhD
Expert in mindful self-compassion & the well-being of our youth
Has anyone ever told you to “just give yourself a break"? Apparently acts of self-compassion such as this can actually reduce stress and anxiety in youth (and adults!) With the increasing pressures being placed on our kids these days, it is no wonder that many are anxious, feel critical of themselves or lack self-confidence.
According to Karen Bluth PhD, an expert in self-compassion and the well-being of our children, a small dose of self-care and forgiveness can actually go a long way. Join us for this important talk with Dr. Bluth, author of the book "The Self-Compassion Workbook for Teens: Mindfulness and Compassion Skills to Overcome Self-Criticism and Embrace Who You Are", where she will share her research that indicates a healthy dose of mindful self-compassion can decrease stress, anxiety, and depression as well as build resilience, grit and confidence in both adults and children. Dr. Bluth will also provide tools to build up and practice our self-compassion on a daily basis and reveal her tips on how to teach our children to do the same.
