Calling all bakers! Saturday, October 2nd enter your award-winning pie in the annual Pie Baking Contest at the Marin Country Mart Farmers' Market at Larkspur Landing. If your friends and family constantly rave about your pies, then this is your chance to show off and potentially win a prize! There will be two categories: adults and kids 12 and under.

Ingredients must be all natural (no artificial ingredients, coloring, or chemical preservatives) and seasonal. Pies will be judged on taste, presentation, and flakiness of crust. The first-place prize is $200!

To enter, simply bring your pie to the Farmers' Market tent by 10 am on October 2.  All entries must include the title of the pie, the recipe, and of course the entrant's name, email, and phone number. Youth entrants should also include their age. Pies should be prepared in a disposable nine-inche pie tin. Any kind of pie, sweet or savory, is allowed.

In addition to the Pie Baking Contest, Three Babes Bakeshop will be on hand to share its pie-making secrets with its blackberry pie baking demonstration from 10:30 to 11:30 am. The demonstration—which includes pie samples—takes place in the big Farmers' Market tent. If all this makes you hungry for pie, don't worry: Three Babes Bakeshop will also be selling pie by the slice all day from their booth. Winners will be announced at 1:00 pm.
