Share in a festive evening learning about the rich, mystical culture and history of the Mexican Holiday, “Dia De Los Muertos” and its Aztec origin.
In this class we will make authentic, traditional Papel Picado. Learn how to fold and cut this delicate paper several different ways and how and where to hang it in your home.
We will then decorate large traditional sugar skulls with icing, candies, foil, sequins and feathers. Feel free to bring other small items you might want to enhance your sugar skull with such as small paper/silk flowers, gems, or fabric/lace.
At the evenings end you will leave with three to four pieces of Papel Picado and the finished sugar skull to adorn your home or alter.
Sips and nibbles will be served. This Thursday evening class is for adults only but we are offering both of these classes again on Sunday, October 28 for adults and children!
