Redwood City is pleased to offer its kids music series for the seventh year! Four live music concerts on Sundays throughout the summer will be MCd by Andy-Z, the Master of Music and Play, bringing his high energy to Courthouse Square for the joy of kids and adults alike. This series will provide a safe and fun environment for kids to dance and enjoy live music. Your family will be thrilled to enjoy free live music, along with an inflatable play-land, and more!
Andy Z and the Andyland Band
Andy Z is a multiple award-winning children's performer, singer/songwriter and educator who combines music, movement, storytelling and colorful characters to create an experience that keeps kids engaged and families entertained. Andy's performances have earned him rave reviews and high-profile appearances on the Pandora Video Series, Pottery Barn Kids Stylehouse website, and his Andyland Band has been featured at events including Austin City Limits Music Festival (TX), Strings Music Festival (CO), Facebook Scare On The Square and Family Day Events, San Ramon Art & Wind Festival, Marine Science Institute’s Earth Day on the Bay, Filoli Estate Family Night, and the long-running Redwood City Events series’ - Kidchella and Almost Mother’s Day. Andy’s music has been heard on NBC's Today Show and has received many accolades, including Disney's iParenting Media Award, Parent’s Choice Foundation Award, National Parenting Publications Award (NAPPA), and Tillywig Top Fun Award.
Emcee "MC" Andy Z
Redwood City-born kindie-rock artist Andy Z literally feels right at home MC'ing kids rock concert series, Kidchella. In addition to performing live for hundreds of audiences every year, and at such prominent national music festivals as Strings Music Festival in Colorado and Austin City Limits Festival in Texas, he has guest deejayed on the national radio shows Spare The Rock Spoil The Child and Hilltown Family Variety Show. As a celebrity, he appeared with Nancy Cartwright (the voice of Bart Simpson) at the joint event "Stars In The Park", and with San Francisco Giants mascot “Lou Seal”, leading the Highlander Little League Opening Day crowd in a rousing rendition of “Take Me Out To The Ball Game”.
