Come join Marin County Parks and artist Wilma Wyss build a site-specific mosaic along the Mill Valley Sausalito Pathway! This May, community volunteers can help create a colorful tile mosaic that will celebrate native and marshland plants. The mosaic artist will lead the group in snapping tiles, assembling the pattern on a template and adhering tiles to tape. Children over ten years old are welcome with adult supervision. The mosaic will later be hand installed by the artist in June. This project is part of the Dedication Program and one of four new opportunities where park users can commemorate someone special. With a donation of $500 or more, donors will receive a name printed on a tile integrated into the border of the mosaic in Fall 2019. Download an application at www.marincountyparks.org.
Volunteers can also help plant 1 gal shrubs in the planting area, adding habitat for local birds and butterflies. Spaces are limited. Please sign up with Eventbrite to assure a spot. Openings will be filled on a first come- first served basis. All shifts are subject to change; shifts on Sunday, May 5th and Monday, May 6th are subject to cancellation if the mosaic is completed ahead of schedule.
