This year’s Walk into History takes place on Sunday, May 26. We’ve titled it “Exploring Family Ties”, telling stories about the residents and business operators in the “Eastland area,” the earliest subdivision in Mill Valley bordering on Old Mill Park, especially their connections with other families. The tour route includes the Japanese “colony” on Bernard, historic homes and families on Lovell, and the earliest schools.
The Walk starts in the Mill Valley Library’s Smart Garden, with tours leaving every 20 minutes starting at 9:30 am, with the last tour at 3:00 pm.
We also have a special family activity “Games We Used to Play” for elementary school age children in Old Mill Park from 10 am to 2 pm, featuring games, crafts and treats from the mid-20th century. Adults must accompany children.
