Let the Future Speak: Storytelling Ritual and Community Event

  • Asian Art Museum 200 Larkin Street San Francisco, CA, 94102 United States (map)

Participants are encouraged to bring an artifact, object, or photograph that is a touchpoint for their identity: something that holds significant personal meaning or precious memories. The artist will lead a reflection on inheritance and how our personal histories can open pathways to the future. Participants will have the option to record their stories and experiences for an archive that will feature prominently in the participatory installation of “Let the Future Speak,” set to debut in 2024.

This event is one of many workshops, listening sessions, and roundtables Phingbodhipakkiya is holding with AAPI-serving Bay Area nonprofits during her Civic Practice Residency, funded in part by the Asian Art Museum.
