Earth Day Celebration and Daniel Smith Paint Demo

OVERVIEW
Join John Muir Laws and members of the nature journaling community for an in-person Earth Day Celebration in Palo Alto, California. The day will include an Earth Day clean up, nature journaling field trip and workshop, and a special Daniel Smith Paint Demo at the Foster Museum in Palo Alto, California.

FREE: MORNING FIELD TRIP, JOURNAL WORKSHOP, CLEAN UP, AND POTLUCK
9:00-12:30pm. Bring gloves, a trash bag, your nature journal, and something to share for our potluck. We will celebrate Earth Day by joining together to clean up a natural area and leave it more beautiful than we found it. John Muir Laws will also lead attendees in a nature journal workshop. No registration required—just show up. NOTEMorning Meeting location is TBD and will be within a 15-min drive from the Foster. We will post it here soon.

AFTERNOON PAINT DEMO: LIMITED SEATING, Donation of $40+
At 1pm and 3pm (choose one of these times when you register below), we will enjoy a 90-minute demonstration by Scott, a representative from Daniel Smith Fine Watercolor. We will learn about and get to play with some pigments from Jack’s favorite watercolor maker, Daniel Smith. The John Muir Laws’ Naturalist Store and the Wild Wonder store will be at this event, so you can shop for books, nature journaling supplies, stickers, and John Muir Laws’ Custom Watercolor Palette, which features Daniel Smith Fine Watercolor paints. Your ticket includes a Daniel Smith dot card, other paint samples, handouts, and other surprises!

The Foster Museum will also be open to all, so participants in each demo will also have the opportunity to explore and learn from the beautiful artwork of Tony Foster.

The afternoon demo is a fundraiser for the 2023 Nature Journaling Educators Workshop, and attendance is very limited. Registrants will receive additional info and a supplies list closer to the event. the event.
