SmartFeed’s top 10 Halloween Movies+Shows+Apps+Books for your Kids!

Ronnie's Awesome List presents a guest post by Linsly Donnelly of SmartFeed, offering media tips for families this Halloween.

Boo! My favorite season – Halloween –  has arrived. The air crackles with pumpkin spiced fall flavor and crooked candle lit grins.

A family favorite tradition – costume consideration.

Last night we sunk into the couch, orange skeleton blanket draped around huddled shoulders, and commenced… online costume recon. One and half hot chocolates later we emerged with:

  • A football player (1st grader),
  • A girl Pikachu (2nd grader…)
  • and – with much parental angst – a “gore-free” ….headless horseman.

Our 5th grader: “Come oooonn, Mom, I want to be scary. super scary. Ok, not too bloody – but scary -  that’s what Halloween’s about right?

Mmmmm - I’m not so sure. Young Kids + Super Spooky does not often = a good night’s sleep – for any of us.

With costumes in check, it’s time to queue up fantastic Halloween tales – movies, shows, apps and books – to get “just the right amount” of spooky underway.

And, for that, we dive into SmartFeed.

On SmartFeed – we make it easy for users to dial up – or dial down – the topics and themes in kids’ media titles to build customized media playlists – “just right”  for each child

Like all parents, we know every child is unique. Their interests, maturity, sensitivities vary by child by age and…often by topic. What delights and engages one child, sends another child into a tail spin - especially when it comes to spooky Halloween themesWe highlight the good stuff and give you links to all the information you need to make the best media choices with your kids.
