The Bay Area Science Festival is Northern California’s largest education event and brings together STEM role models, families, youth and adults to experience the wonder of science.

Going into our 11th year, the Science & Health Education Partnership at UCSF is thrilled to organize the Bay Area Science Festival in collaboration with Bay Area universities, museums, cultural institutions, libraries, corporations, after-school groups, research labs and government agencies.

The Festival is designed to engage attention, inspire interest, and ignite imagination across our community. Now more than ever, it’s a way for people of all ages to connect with science and discover the infinite ways it shapes our daily lives and our future.

So join us — in person — for Discovery Days, maker events, live panels, explorer tours, games, and so much more for all ages! DISCOVERY DAY AT ORACLE PARK IN SAN FRANCISCO

Sunday 4/24/2022 – 11 AM – 4 PM

This free family event is unlike any other – with dynamic demonstrations, engaging experiments, geeky games and astounding activities for all ages! This super-charged, super-fun celebration will include hundreds of hands-on activities, robots and opportunities to meet local scientists and engineers on every level of the ballpark. 

DISCOVERY DAY AT CAL STATE EAST BAY – HAYWARD CAMPUS

Saturday 4/30/2022 – 11 AM- 4 PM

The CSU East Bay Hayward campus will host more than 50 free demonstrations, experiments, hands-on-activities, exhibits, and much much more. Exhibits are held both in classrooms and outdoors.

Explorer Tours

Each year, we host behind-the-scenes tours that highlight the scientific wonders of the Bay Area. From exploring Glen Canyon Park with a CA Native Plant Society Naturalist to touring a deep sea ocean exploration manufacturing center with marine engineers, each tour highlights local resources and is led by someone who works in the science, technology, engineering, math or health fields.
