Fix-it, don’t trash it! Join craft experts and community partners at the new Innovation Lab at India Basin Shoreline Park for a 5-day DIY extravaganza!
Learn and show off new skills in fixing, upscaling, crafting, and playing together. Anyone of all ages can try their hand at renovation, repair, and creative repurposing. Discover how to work towards being a part of a community that repairs more than it purchases.
Schedule of Events:
Bike Bonanza
Monday: August 12, 1pm - 5pm
Cruise over to repair that leaky tube, tighten those brakes or just clean the chain. A maintained bike is a safe bike! Or transform your bike into a scraper bike.
Home Revival
Tuesday: August 13, 1pm - 5pm
Make that house, flat, apartment or any space a home with some creativity and maker skills. Come and learn how to upscale furniture, properly patch and paint walls or create your own unique decoration.
Urban Garden Grow Fest
Wednesday: August 14, 1pm - 5pm
Herbs and veggies can grow just about anywhere! Succulents are the gift that keeps on giving if you know how to propagate. Discover the joy of all things plants and enjoy some offerings from local farms!
Fashion Soiree
Thursday: August 15, 1pm - 5pm
Turn those holes and tears into couture fashion. Build your brand or just darn your socks with other creative minds.
Skate Jam
Friday: August 16, 1pm - 5pm
Oil your bearings, adjust the trucks and paint a deck to ride at our mobile park.
This fun, free, five-day community event is hosted by the Randall Museum in collaboration with the San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department, Culture of Repair, SCRAP, and the A. Philip Randolph Institute.
