7 Places Welcoming Visitors Back in the Bay Area

If you’re itching for a change of scenery, you’re in luck! Several outdoor family favorites across the Bay Area are now open but with restrictions. Visitors must purchase the limited number of tickets available. Only outdoor exhibits will be open. Please follow state and federal guidelines regarding the pandemic and respect any additional requirements in place to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all. Muir Woods National Monument

Oakland Zoo is excited and eager to offer Bay Area families a safe place for outdoor recreation and education. In compliance with the Alameda County Public Health Department—to protect the health and safety of our guests, staff, and animals—we have implemented new safety protocols. San Francisco Zoo

The Zoo officially reopened to the public on July 15. Please note that significant changes have been made to ensure your safety, along with that of our staff and animals.

CuriOdyssey's Outdoor Museum & Zoo is open! We are doing our utmost available to create a safe environment and have new guidelines for visitors.

Japanese Tea Garden

The Tea Garden, the oldest public Japanese garden in the U.S., closed March 17 due to the shelter in place order. To re-open safely, the Tea Garden will limit guests to 100 and set up one-way pathways to avoid congestion. Bathrooms and certain high-touch areas such as steep bridges will remain closed and masks are required for everyone. Staff members will monitor queues, entrances and exits to prevent crowding and ensure social distancing.
