National Park Week is April 15–23: Visit for free!

“Because no matter who you are, no matter where you live, our parks, our monuments, our lands, our waters — these places are your birthright as Americans” – PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA

This year, from April 15 to 23, is National Park Week, America's largest celebration of the over 400 national parks. Throughout National Park Week, every national park will give you free admission

Now is a great time to reconnect with nature, explore amazing places, discover diverse wildlife, and enjoy what is uniquely America’s vibrant culture and rich history—the national parks! Our federal public lands and waters belong to all Americans. Here are some great events planned for the week:

  • April 15: National Junior Ranger Day
Explore, Learn, Protect! Kids can take part in fun programs and earn a junior ranger badge or become a Centennial Junior Ranger.
  • April 22: Earth Day
On Earth Day, if you want to roll up your sleeves and pitch in with a project, look for a park where you can help out.
  • April 23: Park Rx Day
Parks will host fun recreational activities that encourage healthy lifestyles and promote physical and mental well being. Looking to host your own event? Download A Guide to Planning Your Own National Park Rx Day Celebration.
