Everyone's favorite, and practically perfect, nanny is blown in by a very strong wind to the Throckmorton Theatre in Mill Valley for the next two weekends. Complete with her traveling carpetbag and ready to enchant you with her magical touch that makes everything wonderful. Don't miss this musical adventure. I am proud to share this exclusive interview with the Throckmorton Theatre's Mary Poppins.
As the star of the show, can you give me an idea of what makes "Mary Poppins” so special?
Where else can you shoot up a chimney, carry a magic bag and visit a talking shop? It’s a charming story that touches hearts and teaches lessons.
What is the best part of being in Mary Poppins?
Getting to be “practically perfect” in every way! The fabulous cast and production staff that make the magical story come to life.
Tell me the truth, what do you really think of the Banks children?
They are sweet kids who have clearly just had the wrong nannies! And they may be a bit spoiled…
The performance takes place in the 1930's but now that we are in 2015. As a sophisticated and intelligent woman, what do you think you would do for a living today's modern world?
I would be a social worker helping underprivileged children who have lost their way. I would still try to show them the magic in this world.
What is the most 'supercalifragilisticexpialidocious' part of the performance at the Throckmorton?
Learning how to say it backwards of course! Also dancing on the rooftops of London and bringing toys to life while working with a wonderful group of people and a fabulous director.
Your life has been played on the big screen by Julie Andrews and now on stage by the talented Caitlin Scannell, directed by the awesome Throckmorton Youth Theatre's, Steven Hess. But if you had the choice, which actress would you like to see play you in a movie or play about your life and why?
Jennifer Aniston because she is also “practically perfect!” She is funny, smart, and beautiful. She might need a little more experience with children though.
Indubitably! Don’t miss this awesome Tony Award-winning Broadway hit that is FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY! That's a piecrust promise. Get your tickets now for "Mary Poppins."
