A Whole New Season of Family-Friendly Fun!

There's something for everyone from the young to the young at heart. From panthers to beautiful Queens to famous fables, the Marin Theatre Company's Family Friendly Series classic line-up will have kids and their parents smiling, singing, and totally smitten with the magic of theater.

OCT 29 - NOV 6

The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling

When a tiger named Shere Khan wants to make a defenseless young boy his next meal, a family of wolves steps in to save the child, who they call Mowgli. Together with Baloo the bear and Bagheera the panther, Mowgli learns how to live in the jungle and protect himself from Shere Khan, who hates all of humankind. But it's up to Mowgli to to figure out where it is he truly belongs. Recommended for ages 6 and up.

Young attendees are invited to dress up as their favorite jungle creature—though certainly all superheroes, hot dogs, and all other creative costumes welcome as well!! The Snow Queen by Hans Christian Andersen

The story of an evil mirror that turns beauty to ugly, and good to bad. The story of Gerda and Kai, best friends with an unshakeable bond. The story of the Snow Queen, indifferent to all she freezes in her path. A group of intrepid narrators bring all these and more to life in Mike Kenny(The Little Mermaid at MTC)'s adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen's fairytale about people learning to do good in an often-wicked world.

Recommended for ages 9 and up.

FEB 25 – MAR 5

Hare & Tortoise

Young, excitable Hare wants nothing more in this world than to race his friend--the older, slower Tortoise. While Hare speeds through daily life and does everything he can to make the time pass faster, Tortoise slows down and takes her time, whether doing chores or having fun. Hare and Tortoise is a fun, fast (and slow) show for 4 to 8 year olds about friendship, the passing of time and the excitement of growing up.

Recommended for ages 4 and up.

Saturday Sitters

Marin Theatre Company and UrbanSitter have partnered together to help the numerous young families in the Bay Area attend live theater more easily. In addition to offering a special discount for Marin Theatre Company patrons, UrbanSitter will provide babysitters for MTC’s Sitter Saturday to the upcoming season. Babysitters will be onsite beginning at 12:30pm. Pickup is available as late as the conclusion of the post-show Q&A.
