In celebration of Mother’s Day, San Francisco was selected to host a special local performance as part of the National Listen To Your Mother (LTYM) series. Talented writers and bloggers from the Bay Area and beyond will perform live readings of their poignant, beautiful and hilarious “Off The Beaten Path” motherhood experiences at the Brava Theater Center on May 9. The cast includes Tanya Bloch, KC Chapek, Nicholas Cravotta, Vicki DeArmon, Naomi Goldner, Mary Hill, Sheri Hoffmann, Grace Kraaijvanger, Regina Louise, Doris Ober, Julie Schmit, Wendy Spero and Thea Sullivan.

Born of the creative work of mothers who publish online, each Listen To Your Mother production is directed, produced, and performed by local communities, for local communities, with 10% of ticket proceeds benefiting a local non-profit cause. Oakland Elizabeth House, a transitional program for women with children who have experienced homelessness, violence, addiction, and/or poverty is the beneficiary of this year’s Listen To Your Mother San Francisco show.

The performance will be produced and directed by Bay Area writers and residents Laurel Hilton, Marianne Lonsdale, Janine Kovac, and Mary Hill. All are members of Write On Mamas and essay contributors to the anthology Mamas Write, 29 Tales of Truth, Wit, and Grit, published May 2014.

Tickets to the 7:30 performance on Saturday, May 9 are available now at the Brava Theater Center website www.brava.org or by calling the Brava box office at 415-641-7657.
