GIRLS’ FESTIVAL

On Saturday, November 9th WorldWideWomen, a global resource center for women, will proudly host its fourth annual Girls’ Festival. Taking place at the enormous and iconic Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, the daylong event aims to empower girls of all ages via six hours of performances by local girls’ dancing and singing groups; 20 interactive workshops on topics from human trafficking and safety to leadership and advocacy; STEM classes; a makerspace featuring everything STEAM; a sports arena; all day career mentoring, and an interactive Expo of organizations that offer programs for girls in the Bay Area.

The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Tickets range from $10 to $15 (children under 7 are free) and can be purchased online at worldwidewomengirlsfestival.org.

We have assembled a world-class group of experts, professionals and over 70 local and global organizations to showcase their programs and services to inspire and motivate girls to be all that they can imagine. To date, our three festivals have attracted over 10,000 girls and their families from throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and this year we are expecting 5,000+ attendees. Our festivals are powerful—many say life-changing—days for girls and this year promises to be equally amazing. Our event is geared to connect girls to important resources to help them thrive, bolster their self-esteem, and inspire them to reach for the stars!”, says WorldWideWomen Founder and CEO, Maureen Broderick.

Over 500 girls from underserved communities around the greater Bay Area—Marin City, Hunters Point, Oakland, Salinas, and East Palo Alto—who would otherwise not be able to attend the event, will be bused to the festival as guests for the day. “We do this every year”, says Broderick, “it is so important to connect these girls to all of the amazing resources and opportunities they will experience at the festival—it opens their minds to new career paths and possibilities to pursue”.

Multiple sessions throughout the day to learn to code in Java, program robots, engage with IoT, Raspberry Pi, and much more
