Firebolts Volleyball Club Launches Outdoor Camps During COVID-19

Firebolts Volleyball Club is here to provide the rest of your child’s summer and academic year with much needed exercise, fun and a safe place to interact with their peers. Exercise is especially necessary for growing bodies. The endorphins calm their busy minds and also keep them moving, healthy and feeling good. Firebolts Volleyball Club is just what a young body needs to enjoy the rest of the summer and succeed this academic year.

Currently enrolling Session 3. All camps meet at Strawberry Recreation District outdoor grass areas in Mill Valley. Firebolts provides instruction for 9-18 years old with varying skills levels as well as the newly launched Sparks program for 5-8 years old.

FIREBOLTS

9-18 years old

COVID-19 compliant program that provides your 9-18 year old child with high quality instruction in volleyball. Masks worn at all times. Water breaks taken 6 feet apart. Firebolts is designed for kids who have no to some prior volleyball experience, ranging from beginner to advanced. It is a program that teaches skill, game strategy and team sportsmanship.

Age 14-18 & All Advanced regardless of age (courts divided by skill level)
10:00am - 1:00pm: $325

Age 9-13 & All Beginners regardless of age (courts divided by skill level) 10:00am - 12:00pm: $225; 10:00am - 1:00pm option:  $325

SPARKS

5-8 years old

COVID-19 compliant program that introduces your 5-8 year old child to the fundamentals of volleyball. Masks worn at all times. Water breaks taken 6 feet apart.  Sparks is designed for kids who want an introduction to the game of volleyball. It is a program that guides the children through the first stages of ball handling (tossing, catching, passing, underhand serving and hitting), basic rules of the game and skills like teamwork.

Meet the Founders

Lynn Stein was named 1988 San Diego Volleyball Player of the Year. Lynn went onto become one of the nation’s top recruits as she was named Volleyball First Team All American her senior year. She played volleyball on a full scholarship at UC Berkeley. She earned All Pac-10 Conference Freshman Team honors. She was a Cal volleyball representative and named a Cal Assistant Volleyball Coach.

Lynn is a co-founder of the Firebolts Volleyball Club along with her friend Quynh Nguyen, whom she met when their daughters attended preschool together in 2010. These moms share a passion for volleyball and its much needed expansion of the sport.

Quynh Nguyen has been a mentor for youth through CYO volleyball and basketball coaching and on the respective CYO boards. Quynh handles all administration. Email Coach Quynh at quynh@fireboltsvolleyball.com.

Keeping Athletes Safe

With the postponement of school sports, including CYO programs, Firebolts Volleyball Club now offers 12 player co-ed cohort, outdoor 3-week camps. Daily temperature checks, mandatory masks for coaches and players during physical play, periodically sanitized balls and social distancing are examples of how we comply with local and state health guidelines.
