SUPPORT EZ

In an effort to strengthen the battle against childhood cancer and celebrate his end-of-treatment, five-year-old Ezequiel “EZ” Powell and his family will host an Alex’s Lemonade Stand on Sunday, June 14 at the Little Yellow House in downtown Point Reyes Station. The family’s event will be part of Alex’s Lemonade Days, a three-day national event held annually bringing together dedicated volunteers to host thousands of Alex's Lemonade Stands across the country, raising over $1 million for childhood cancer research. The Porrata-Powell family have been named as the California Hero Family State Representatives for Alex’s Lemonade Days.

The celebration will feature live music by Irena Pantovic of Little Folkies, crafting activities (God’s eyes, sun-prints, button making), cake-walk, popcorn, tamales, beer and wine. Lemonade by Sir and Star Restaurant. Smilebooth provided by SOL FOOD Restaurant.

ABOUT EZ

In January of 2014, EZ Powell was diagnosed with a rare childhood tumor that metastasized to his spine and lungs. Soon after his diagnosis, EZ’s father, former Dominican University basketball star Roneil Powell passed away in his sleep. Roneil was the sole financial provider for his family and did not have life insurance. The outpouring of support from their community and beyond has been unparalleled. This winter, EZ completed his year of cancer treatment and is doing astoundingly well. To thank the community for their support as well as raise funds and awareness for pediatric cancer research, the Porrata-Powell Family will host a community celebration in EZ’s honor. The event is free, but donations will be collected for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research.

About Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of cancer patient Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996-2004). In 2000, 4-year-old Alex announced that she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer. Since Alex held that first stand, the Foundation bearing her name has evolved into a national fundraising movement, complete with thousands of supporters across the country carrying on her legacy of hope. To date, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, a registered 501(c)3 charity, has raised more than $100 million toward fulfilling Alex’s dream of finding a cure, funding over 475 pediatric cancer research projects nationally.
