The world’s most sought after theatre camp is in our own backyards! Yes, for the past 22 years the Young Actors’ Theatre Camp has been training students of all levels between the ages of 8-18 in the Santa Cruz Mountains at their multi award winning theatre arts camp!
Founding Director, Shawn Ryan exclaims: “It’s just the most amazing year ever at our camp! We are back in full force and have the most amazing campers and faculty from around the world coming to work on their craft, whether it be on stage or off - in front of the camera of behind.”
The faculty that Ryan mentions consists of heavy hitters from Broadway, Film and Television in NYC and LA. It includes the likes of
ALEX BRIGHTMAN (who originated the role of Beetlejuice on Broadway), ELIZABETH TEETER (also a Beetlejuice Alum), Stars from the Broadway Production of “Mean Girls”, KATE ROCKWELL and KRYSTINA ALABADO, and from the upcoming film adaptation of “Wicked”, ETHAN SLATER! And that’s just for starters!
Campers get to choose a major in this Camp’s Conservatory - Acting, Musical Theatre, Drag or Creative!
“It’s TRULY a ONE of a KIND experience!” Maria Walton of Palo Alto says. “My child has gone 3 summers in a row and not only do they have the best time ever being at camp, but they’re learning SO much and it’s improving their roles at school and in our local community theatre. We are eternally grateful for what YATC provides.”
In honor of their 23rd Anniversary Season - YATC is giving away 23 scholarships, to both Merit Winners and for families who need a little financial assistance. “In 22 years, YATC has never turned anyone away for the inability to pay. We don’t plan on starting now,” says Ryan.
