NEW EXHIBIT: Step inside Pterosaurs: Flight in the Age of Dinosaurs, starting, learn how these winged reptiles ruled the skies for as long as dinosaurs walked the Earth. View real pterosaur fossils, walk beneath a life-size model of the largest animal to ever navigate the skies, and fly like a pterosaur in a special interactive, California Academy of Science.

Skaggs Island Bicycle Ride and Picnic, 9:30am-1pm, a rare opportunity to tour the 3,300-acre Skaggs Island, a former top secret naval communications site. It is now a part of the San Pablo Bay National Wildlife Refuge and normally closed to the public, Sonoma.

Ring Mountain Grassland Restoration, 10am – 1pm, all ages, help restore habitat on this special volunteer day. We’ll venture out to see the endangered Tiburon mariposa lily and remove invasive plants that threaten their existence. Invasive yellow star and tocolote thistle were once a thriving population on the rise, but our efforts have yielded positive results. Meet at the gate at the end of Taylor Rd in Tiburon.

Discover Octopuses at Crissy Field! 10am & 1pm, Join us for our debut of the brand-new Octo Lab! Participants will discover one of the oceans most intelligent creatures- the octopus! Teams will measure, weigh, study, touch, and examine their way through the lab using their own defrosted octopus specimen. As the grand finale, we will create octopus stop motion videos as well as octopus prints for you to take home as keep-sakes.
