冬至 Dongzhi, the Winter Solstice, signifies the beginning of winter and is a time for families to come together, eat, and reflect on the accomplishments of the past year. It also marks the lengthening of the days, which is a cause for celebration as families think about how they can build together and transition into the new year while preparing food and tangyuan (rice balls) together.
