Water Scholars Program
The Marin Municipal Water District (MMWD) created the Water Scholars Program to expand water education and water awareness for high school students. The program awards two scholarships of $1,000 each to high school seniors within MMWD’s service area to help support their post-high school education.
MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Applicant must:
Be a member of the MMWD service area 2018 Senior Class
Maintain a current GPA of 3.0 or higher
Submit completed application form including essay by the deadline
Children of MMWD employees are not eligible.
HOW TO APPLY
Submit completed application form (see page 2) along with 1,000-1,500 word essay by no later than Friday, January 26, 2018. Note that application form and essay must be received by the deadline; postmarks do not quality. Mail or deliver your application and essay to:

Topic: Choose ONE of the prompts on the application form as the topic for your essay
Length: 1,000 – 1,500 words
Text: Typed/word-processed, 12-point font, double-spaced
Page: White paper, one-inch margins on all four sides, numbered pages
Title: Provide an original title for your essay (i.e., do not use the prompt as your title)
Header: Provide a header that includes your full name, email and phone number
JUDGING CRITERIA
Essays will be judged based on the following equally weighted criteria:
Focus on topic
Creativity & originality
Style, grammar and presentation
