The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco Teen Advisory Board is composed of ten high school students who plan, host, and promote teen events to their communities. Our teens see the de Young and Legion of Honor museums as places to unite and support one another on behalf of important social issues. Every year, they host a major event called Teens Take Action!, inspired by the Museums’ collection or a special exhibition.
At the event we host teen-led performances, local youth organizations, gallery activities, music, dance, and collective art making. The next Teens Take Action! is happening Saturday, October 27, 2018 and will be inspired by the upcoming exhibition Contemporary Muslim Fashions. This is the first major exhibition to explore the complex and diverse nature of Muslim dress codes worldwide. Teens will have a platform in which identity and fashion are discussed.
