MAKE: Halloween

  • The Museum of Craft and Design 2569 3rd Street San Francisco, CA, 94107 United States (map)

Collaborate with artists and makers, explore unique themes, and re-think materials through creative design projects– all happening after-hours in the MCD galleries!

MAKE gets spooky with an other-worldly look at MCD’s exhibitions! Make a ghostly self portrait in an etched-glass mirror, create a Haunted Heimat pumpkin diorama, and design a glowing Lost Soulmates charm bracelet made of forgotten memories—all inspired by Iris Eichenberg: Where Words Fail.

Step through Robyn Horn: Material Illusions and explore the portals opened up by Dia de los Muertos ofrendas with artists and librarians from SFPL Mission Branch! Craft the elements to help usher your loved ones to the other side, including carved soap skulls, personalized pillar candles, polymer mini-food, pyrography papel picado banners, and tissue paper flower bunches.

PLUS don’t lose your head over DIY Hellish Haberdashery and sign up to win an MCD Membership to insure your continued FREE entry to future MAKE events!

All activities are free with admission and visitors of all ages are welcome. A Cash/Square bar will be available for guests 21 and over, ID required. MCD members and sponsors receive two complimentary drink tickets. Non-alcoholic beverages and snack options will also be available.
