Enjoy the late-season flowers, changing sounds and smells, and warmer days with guided hikes at 11am and 2pm offered by our volunteer Nature Guides, with summer celebration activities and crafts throughout the day.
Join volunteer Nature Guide Marty on July 20th as we discover the faultline that has defined the San Francisco Bay Area, learn about its movements, the tectonic plates, and more… and have a look at the lagoon through scopes and binoculars, through which the San Andreas runs!

Head out to beautiful Upton Beach and let your creativity run wild! Join ranger staff to build sandcastles and whatever else you can imagine using materials from nature. Sand, seaweed, driftwood, and shells are a few of the materials we can use to create unique masterpieces! Work as a group or solo. The only requirement is having a great time in the beautiful outdoors.
Visit Martin Griffin Preserve throughout our limited Fall Season, with Nature Guide-led walks, activities, or materials to open your eyes to our lovely preserve in a different way each week.
