The 39 Steps!
Our Spring Mystery Comedy is Patrick Barlow’s hilarious adaptation of Alfred Hitchcock’s iconic film The 39 Steps, which was itself an adaptation of John Buchan’s groundbreaking thriller novel The 39 Steps. It’s 1935. Our hero, Richard Hannay, has returned to England after many years, and is, frankly, wondering why. He’s bored. Suddenly, all of this changes when Annabella Schmidt, a beautiful foreign spy, comes into his life, only to be found murdered in his apartment later that night. Hannay is now on the run – from the police and from the ruthless organization he knows killed Annabella. He must find a way to stop them from taking secret information out of the country – but he doesn’t know what it is, who they are, where they are, or what is The 39 Steps!
Directed by Jen Grimes, Technical Direction and Set Design by Hannah Ozeran, Choreography by Doree Clark. Proudly presented by the Upper School Theatre Arts Department.
Note: The performance has recorded gun shots .
