Crowden presents Sundays @ Four, our series of low-cost, family friendly concerts featuring distinguished chamber musicians. Artists speak about each work and share their personal observations in these intimate concerts. As always at Crowden, children under 18 attend free.

Featuring John Adams Young Composers Program faculty and alumni!

Friction Quartet, whose performances have been called “terribly beautiful” (San Francisco Classical Voice), “stunningly passionate” (Calgary Herald), and “exquisitely skilled” (ZealNYC), exists to modernize the chamber music experience and expand the string quartet repertoire. Since forming in 2011, Friction has commissioned 43 works for string quartet and given world premiere performances of more than 80 works.

In this very special concert, Friction performs original works by our John Adams Young Composers Program faculty and alumni, including Dan Becker, Belinda Reynolds, Matthew Cmiel, John Reager, Mario Godoy, and Lauren Vandervelden.
