Sugar Skull Ingredients
Two predominant recipes for the creation of the sugar skull. One uses Meringue Powder, water and sugar. One uses 2 egg whites, lemon drops and water. This class will use Meringue powder only.
Ingredients needed for skull: sugar, Meringue powder, water
Tools: Larger metal bowl, Skull Molds, cardboard squares
(1 teaspoon of Meringue powder for every 1 cup of sugar)
(1 teaspoon of water for every cup of sugar)
Materials Needed
Sugar Skull Mold (clear plastic) – purchase on Amazon – $16.95 brand called 180 degrees
Pure Cane Sugar (1 to 2 pounds)
Meringue powder
Water
Larger Bowl with wooden spoon
Cardboard squares 6″ x 6″
Royal Frosting Ingredients
Ingredients for Royal Icing: Meringue powder, sugar, water, food dye
Utensils: larger metal bowl, plastic bags, string, rubber bands, scissors
Hand Mix or Electrical Blender – 1 pound of sugar or confection sugar and 1/4 cups of Meringue powder. Add 1/3 cup of water.
