Salmon of San Geronimo Valley

  • San Geronimo Commons 5800 Sir Francis Drake Boulevard San Geronimo, CA, 94963 United States (map)

Each year, several species of Pacific salmon migrate up certain creeks to breed. We’ll look for evidence of fish as we discuss the biology of these remarkable animals. The timing of these activities is subject to numerous environmental variables, but if we're lucky and have had enough rain, we might observe spawning activity. We'll be joined by Ayano Hayes, with the Salmon Protection and Watershed Network (SPAWN), who will discuss the recent restoration project here. It can be very cold by the creek so bring warm clothing; binoculars and polarized glasses are helpful to see the fish better. No pets (except service dogs) are allowed. Adverse weather or poor air quality may cancel. Registration is required.
