Budding reporters will learn the ropes from Times journalists, venture into the museum to gather facts and ultimately create their own front page. It’s sure to be a memorable day, guided by Caitlin Roper, editorial director of The New York Times Magazine Labs; Amber Williams, editor of The New York Times For Kids (a special print section that runs the last Sunday of every month); and the Explainers of the Exploratorium — a playful learning laboratory at the apex of science, art, and transformative education. After the kids attend a brief Times-led workshop, they can begin their reporting. They’ll have the opportunity to create their own front page in our on-site kids’ newsroom, open until 12:30 p.m.
The Family Pass includes day-long access to the Exploratorium for up to two adults and two children, but the science-reporting program, designed for children ages eight and older, is optional for adults. Continue fueling your curiosity exploring the museum’s more than 650 hands-on exhibits.
