Join us on Friday, September 13 for our first-ever Mid-Autumn Festival at Off the Grid: Fort Mason Center! No need to travel thousands of miles to experience a true taste of Mid-Autumn — BiteUnite guest chef Shadow Lau will be flying in from Hong Kong to share her famous mooncakes (classic, and SF-influenced green tea and ube) with the Off the Grid community.
Traditionally celebrated across East Asia, Mid-Autumn Festival takes place on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar, marking the end of the autumn harvest. Also known as the Moon Festival (during the celebration the moon is at its roundest and brightest), the event brings families and friends together to honor the moon’s representation of unity and togetherness.
Here's what you can expect:
Food including dumplings from Happy Dumpling, taro chicken and charcoal lava buns from Wokitchen, Ube/Taro bar from Frozen Kuhsterd and duck bao from Mission Street Food.
Specialty drinks including Magnolia Brewing Co's Pumpkin Beer and Tanqueray Singapore Sling
Free lantern decoration station from San Francisco Children’s Art Center’s
Performances from Flying Angels Chinese Dance Company, Dragon Dancers, DJ Kurse, and Asian-American funk band Trace Repeat.
We hope you’ll join us from 5pm-10pm for a delicious evening of food, drink, and dance under the full moon.
