Before you go out to Trick-or-Treat, you and yours should come to Trek-and-Treat at the Safari West Halloween Spook-tacular! As always, kids in costumes will be the recipients of oohs and ahhs and a Safari West goodie bag when they visit our Conservation Pumpkin Patch!
While you’re visiting the pumpkin patch you can also purchase a pumpkin for yourself, or one to donate to our animals! Pumpkins make great enrichment items and whether the animals play with them, eat them, or smash them to smithereens, they sure do love these big orange gourds! Either way, the money spent will be donated to the amazing Vulture Conservation Foundation who work to protect some of the world’s most amazing and least appreciated birds.
The fun begins at 10 am with Safari Treks departing every 45 minutes!
Adults $50; Children (4-12) $25
Barbecue Lunch: 11:30 AM – 2:00 PM
Serengeti Bus Trek (Six departure times to choose from)
Activities for the whole family
Reservations can be Booked Online, alternatively, you may also call (707) 566-3667 or email reservations@safariwest.com.
Special Treats
Vultures, Snakes, and Owls! Oh My!
This year, we’ve invited some special guests to help us put on our Spook-tacular! Partner organizations like Bird Rescue, the East Bay Vivarium, and UC Berkeley will be on hand, adding their own unique animals to the seasonal sites. For this one day only, our collection will include, not just monkeys, cheetahs, and rhinos, but vultures, owls, newts, and even flesh-eating beetles!
Trek-&-Treat Tours
Board the Safari West Trek Bus and explore herds of giraffe and antelope, long-horned cattle, and our awe-inspiring southern white rhinos! Trek loops last for 35-40 minutes and are great for even the youngest members of your herd!
After your trek, explore the lower grounds to discover cheetahs, monkeys, exotic birds and more! Beginning at 10:00 am, the Trek Bus departs every 45 minutes (10:00/10:45/11:30/12:15/1:00/1:45).
Only 30 seats available for each loop so reserve your spot today!
Safari West Conservation Pumpkin Patch
Every year Safari West hosts our annual conservation pumpkin patch. This patch works like any other, but with a special safari twist! While you can certainly purchase a pumpkin to take home, you can also buy one to donate to our amazing animals. Pumpkins make for amazing enrichment items (enrichment items are toys, puzzles, and other things our keepers use to keep our wild friends engaged and stimulated). No matter what you choose to do with your pumpkin, the money you spend goes to our dear friends at the Vulture Conservation Foundation. Vultures around the world are facing a real crisis and there’s just no better time to show them some love than at Halloween!
