This year, we focus our attention on the amazing variability of this big, blue planet of ours. Whether on the ground, in the sky, or in the sea, we humans and our animal neighbors find ways to occupy every possible environment. This Earth Day, we’ll have interactive displays scattered around the property exploring these relationships and how we can learn from them to achieve a more sustainable future.

Since you’ll be at Safari West, you’ll also be able to see some examples of these interactions live and in person. Explore our lower grounds where exotic birds, monkeys, and lemurs frolic and play and when you’ve finished that, climb aboard the Nairobi minibus and enjoy a forty-five minute trek tour. This guided excursion takes you through the Gazelle Pasture where giraffes and antelope play and then onward to meet the massive white rhinoceros and our phenomenal Watusi!

This April, celebrate Earth Day where two distant corners of the planet collide! Africa and California come together in the spirit of sustainability right here at Safari West!
