In partnership with the City of San Leandro and the San Leandro Arts Commission, award-winning actor, playwright, comedian and talk show host Brian Copeland is producing the first annual Comedy in the Plaza, a free public event on June 22, 2019 from 5:30 to 8:00pm. The event features Copeland as a performer and emcee and some of his favorite comedians including Jake Johannsen, Sandy Stec, Carlos Alazraqui, Joe Klocek, Jann Karam, and Dat Phan. Each comic will perform for 15 minutes – the order of the acts to be determined. The event will take place in the outdoor plaza of the San Leandro Main Library, located at 300 Estudillo Avenue, in downtown San Leandro.

Copeland says, “I am so excited about this event which I’ve been dreaming about for years and is finally a reality. I’m certain that it will be very popular and I hope it’s the first of many years to come. Street parking is available nearby and I suggest you come early to snag a good spot. Feel free to bring a blanket or low-back lawn chair. And get ready to laugh!”
