Join us for the City Nature Challenge 2019 @ the Presidio, part of an annual worldwide competition where ​city dwellers make observations of “nature where they live.”

Through four days of events, team up with experienced naturalists to record wild plants and animals using the free iNaturalist app.

Your observations will help San Francisco compete in the City ​Nature Challenge. Last year, the Presidio helped San Francisco win the international competition among 60 cities across the globe. In total, San Francisco teams made 41,737 observations and counted 3,211 species!

Activities are free and open to all. Some require pre-registration.​​​​​​​​​​​​​

City Nature Challenge Bioblitz Events – all around the Presidio!

​Join us for a Presidio bioblitz, where you'll help identify as many species as possible over a short period of time. We'l​l use iNaturalist, a community-powered website and app, to upload and share observations and to get help from other users. Bioblitzes are being held at 16 sites all around the Presidio!​​​​
