Saturday, May 20

10:00 AM – Noon – Rewild My School Student Design Contest – We challenged students from our Nature’s Design 7th grade Ecology program to think about innovative building and landscaping ideas that could serve the needs of their school, while increasing space for Nature and biodiversity. Come and see the student’s re-imagined school models! Awards ceremony to be held at 12 PM. Location: Oak Grove Picnic Area

11:00 AM – 2:00 PM – Living with Wildlife on Oona-pa’is (Sonoma Mountain) – Meet the wildlife that lives around us on Sonoma Mountain and throughout Sonoma County. For more information about this event, please click here. Location: The Winery Ruins

11:00 AM or 1:00 PM – Free docent-led tours to the Wolf House. Location: Meet at the House of Happy Walls Museum 

1:00 PM – Free docent-led tour of Beauty Ranch. Location: Meet at the Historic Cottage

Sunday, May 21

FREE ADMISSION to the Park – a $10 value for a carload of adventure seekers.

10:00 AM – 4:00 PM (time tentative) – Plowing Play Day – Bring the kids to get a close-up look at farming back in the day at Plowing Play Day. This popular family event features plowing and harnessing demonstrations, free horse-drawn wagon rides. See mules and Clydesdales Percheron, Shire and Belgian draft horses, blacksmiths, spinning demonstrations and Early Day Gas Engines. Location: The Meadow

11:00 – 11:45 AM – Family Fun Activities – For our youngest adventurers (9 and under), we have a fun Nature-activity area located in the Eucalyptus picnic grove. Beginning with a Nature walk and exploration at 11am sharp, families can engage in up-close adventures with the flora and fauna of the park! Location: Meet at the Eucalyptus Grove

11:00 AM – 3:00 PM – Picnic with the Tri-Tip Trolley food truck. Delicious! Bring a blanket or folding chairs for picnicking. Location: The Meadow

11:00 AM – 2:00 PM – ArtEscape Craft Area – Kids can explore their creativity with art projects offered by Art Escape.  Stop by the table and let your child express themselves in color. Location: The Eucalyptus Grove

Wine Tasting:  Kenwood Vineyards – Stop by the tasting table to try some of local vineyard and event sponsor, Kenwood Vineyard’s finest, with grapes having been grown in the hills surrounding Beauty Ranch.

3:00 PM – Annual Young Writers Contest Awards Ceremony (6th-8th Graders) – Students from across the country created stories with animals as the main characters with animal qualities (like Buck in Call of the Wild) and submitted them to the competition.  Come celebrate their achievements at the awards ceremony to be held at 3:00 PM. Location: Oak Grove Picnic Area
