Nutcracker Family Dance Workshop with the San Francisco Ballet

  • San Francisco’s War Memorial Opera House - Zoom 301 Van Ness Avenue San Francisco, CA, 94102 United States (map)

Our Family Workshops get your child moving and grooving!

SF Ballet Family Workshops are virtual gatherings led by the SF Ballet Education & Training Department, designed to get kids and families moving together while still in the comfort of their own homes. These interactive and intergenerational workshops introduce basic elements of dance and explore storytelling through creative movement, choreography, and characters. Gather the whole family—adult family members, siblings, stuffed animals, and pets—and come dance with us!

Participants should wear comfortable clothes that allow for movement. Ballet shoes are not required. Children are welcome to wear their favorite costume.

LET'S DANCE FAMILY WORKSHOPS

Are you going to SF Ballet’s Nutcracker in December? Is watching Nutcracker a family holiday tradition? Before you bring your family to see a performance on the Opera House stage, join us at home for a Nutcracker Let’s Dance Family Workshop to learn about the story, characters, music, and choreography that you’ll see during the performance.

Each interactive 45-minute workshop led by SF Ballet’s team of professional Dance Teaching Artists is the perfect way to prepare your child to see Nutcracker for the first time or to delight kids who already know our production by heart
