Winter is the time for romping the hills to savor the year’s renewal, when rain graces our parks. As the season turns, new leaves emerge, mushrooms spring up, lichens and mosses display their finest, and passing birds forage among the branches. Dressed for the occasion, we will pursue our winding way through the East Bay’s hills and valleys with fellow friends in nature. Trails can be muddy and slippery this time of year, so we will want to be prepared. Hand lenses and binoculars are useful but not necessary. Each outing reveals a slightly different aspect of the parks.
Light rain is okay. Heavy rain cancels.
Ages 8 years and up.
