Spend time with friends, family, and your parks' community! Join us Monday, January 20th as we remove invasive and persistent French Broom plants.
The work site is off trail, on a slope, and is not recommended for younger children. Many of the plants are under a foot tall and will come out by hand. Others will require the use of a "Weed Wrench" hand tool.
Parking, restrooms, and picnic tables are nearby. We will provide gloves, tools, and direction for the morning.
We ask that you wear closed-toed shoes and comfortable clothing you don't mind getting dirty. We recommend that you bring a personal water bottle for each member of your group. Sunscreen, snacks, hats, and layers are also great to have on hand in case the weather gets warm or cold! If weather conditions are deemed too extreme, this event may be canceled and we will reach out to participants by email.
If signing up as a family or a group, please adjust the number of volunteer sign-ups according to the number of volunteers in your party. Volunteers under the age of 18 must be registered by a parent or guardian. Youth under 15 must be accompanied by an adult.
A reminder email with more detailed instructions on the day's activities and where to meet will also be sent in advance of the event. We look forward to seeing you in the parks!
