Tuesday, November 11 is Veterans Day
Growing up as an air force brat, it is a great honor to celebrate my father, grandpa, and all U.S. military veterans for their service and for giving us the freedoms we have. Here is a list of Veteran's Day events in the Bay Area.
SUNDAY NOVEMBER 9th
San Francisco Veteran's Day Parade, 11am, The parade will start at Market & Second Streets and proceed down Market right on McAllister to City Hall. There is a lot of conflicting information online and organizers do not have an official website. I spoke directly to City Hall in San Francisco who confirmed that this information is correct.
TUESDAY NOVEMBER 11th
Veterans' Day Service, 9:30am, music, military exercises and a brief address, refreshments served after the ceremony, Marin Veterans’ Memorial Auditorium, San Rafael.
Veteran's Day Cruise on San Francisco Bay, 11am, A two and 1/2 hour cruise featuring the Alameda Naval Station, USS Hornet, Jeremiah O'Brien and the submarine Pampanito. Complimentary non-alcoholic beverages will be available.
Veterans Day Service at Presidio Chapel, 11am-1pm, 130 Fisher Loop, San Francisco.
San Jose Veteran's Day Parade, 11am, memorial ceremony at Plaza de Cesar Chavez on Market Street. The colorful parade steps off at noon from Delmas Street, continuing east along Santa Clara to Market Street before proceeding south past the reviewing stand at Park Street opposite Plaza de Cesar Chavez near the Tech Museum, then ending at San Carlos Street.
