The Town of Tiburon and Safe Routes to School instructors will be hosting a fun Bike Rodeo and optional group ride.
A Bike Rodeo skills course with fun activities will be set-up in a controlled environment. New riders can learn how to handle their bicycle and develop new skills.
All ages are welcome, students must be accompanied by a parent. All cyclists must have a bicycle and a helmet to ride.
Learn and practice bicycle handling skills on the black-top from 10:00 to noon
Strider Balance Bikes will be available for ages 6 to 8 to practice balanced riding without pedals.
Advance registration is required for the neighborhood ride only (11:00 to noon), please register here and provide requested information. A representative from MCBC will email you additional event details.
Taught by a League of American Cyclists certified instructor, topics will include basic bike skills, rules of the road, effective communication, and proper equipment. Black-top drills will take place away from traffic and streets in a controlled environment so that new riders can focus on handling their bicycle and developing these needed skills. The neighborhood ride is optional and only for students with prior street and path cycling experience.
If you have further questions about the Family Biking Workshop, or would like to assist by volunteering please contact Peggy Clark.
